MODERN DESIGN

We involve young designers - students and graduates from ART ACADEMY OF LATVIA - in toys design process, to insure that our sustainable toy design will be evidence for future generations about the era we are living in now - trying to balance between social, environmental and economical aspects.

WALDORF INSPIRED

Waldorf teachers believe that toys should be simple and open-ended. By giving children objects that are not highly formed and detailed, they can easily become more than one thing and give children’s imaginations free reign. Inspired by Waldorf education system, Wooly Organic toys have minimal facial features in order to encourage the imagination of the young child and to cultivate her “inner picturing” abilities. Children smile and laugh, but they also look sad or cry when they are hungry or need changing. If a toy has just two eyes the child is able to imagine the toy expressing her own emotions, living in her replete imaginative life.

NATURAL COLORS

Classic collection is manufactured using natural cotton cream color mixing it with brown color. Toys with bright colors and smiling faces are more impulse dolls. When the child is feelingl sad their toy-friend would seem not to understand them, but Wooly Organic soft toy can become a real friend and express the same emotion child is having.

100% Organic Cotton

All textiles used for Wooly Organic products are certified by The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Certified organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic fertilizers or pesticides.

WHY ORGANIC COTTON?

Conventional cotton occupies only 3% of the world’s farmland, but uses 25% of the world’s chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Cotton is the 2nd most pesticide - laden crop in the world after coffee. Organic Cotton is healthier and better for the environment and people.

100% PLA CORN FILLING

Polylactic acid (PLA) corn filling is a type of polyester, made by extracting the starch and turning it into sugar which is then fermented in a similar way to making yoghurt. It is an annually renewable resource which is biodegradable, compostable, naturally hypoallergenic, antibacterial and machine washable. Wooly Organic toys are filled with Oeko-Tex 100 certified Corn fiber filling that has passed tests and is free from the top 100 pesticides or harmful chemicals. GMO FREE As all textiles used for Wooly Organic are GOTS certified, it is determined that the fiber can not come from a genetically modified organism. Also only GMO free corn is used to manufacture corn fiber filling material.

NATURAL MAPLE WOOD

All wooden parts used for toys are manufactured in Germany from natural maple wood and treated with organic beeswax.

GREEN PACKAGING – FSC CERTIFIED

CARDBOARD FSC stands for 'Forest Stewardship Council', an international non-profit organisation that works to promote the practice of sustainable forestry and certifies forests worldwide to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards. Therefore products like FSC paper and wood have been sourced in an environmentally-friendly, socially responsible and economically viable manner.

PRINTED WITH SOY INK

The ink is made of soybeans. As opposed to traditional petroleum – based ink, soy-based ink is more environmentally friendly.

MANUFACTURED IN BALTIC STATES (EU)

SUSTAINABLE - NO WASTE MANUFACTURING

Wooly Organic has been cooperating with social business Lude in Latvia to utilize organic textile waste and instead of throwing it out Lude creates eco-friendly, sustainable and stylish rugs for nurseries. Every bit of the work process is done by hand, starting from sorting out the raw material, cutting it into strips and then weaving. You can imagine, how much warmth of the hands is put in every rug that comes out of Lude and Wooly Organic soft textile leftovers. A true design with good karma
